Marco & Dennise's Desert Engagement Session at South Mountain

So, as I start to discover new to me locations I get a new favorite every single time. Currently, I've grown to be a big fan of the South Mountain area. My favorite part about South Mountain is that you can drive right up to the top of the mountain and get killer views of the valley and Downtown Phoenix. So, as you drive in to the South Mountain Preserve on the left you will see these ruins called Scorpion Gulch. I stumbled upon this location on my way to check out Dobbin's Lookout with my husband one day and definitely wanted to go back to Scorpion Gulch for a engagement or couples session. The location are ruins of a home\store built in the 1936 that was last operated in 1966. The structures are unique and I love the stone and overall setting especially at sunset which is when the session took place.

I chose this location for M+D's engagement session because they lived close to it and it was a great mid-point for them and I and I absolutely loved it. I am so happy that we did chose South Mountain because it was a gorgeous 70 degree Arizona December day and it wasn't that busy either. We started at Scorpion Gulch and then made our way around the preserve and up to a couple of the look outs.

My favorite part of the entire shoot would of been when we were at the lookout, by that time the couple had totally loosened up and were just completely wrapped up in the moment and to me it showed in the portraits. See M+D's engagement session below. If you are looking for a photographer for your maternity, engagement, anniversary, vow renewal or any couple category portraits, please consider me because I'd love to be considered! Couples are my jam no matter the occasion or age.

M+D are getting married this February 15th, 2020 and it will be the wedding that kicks off my wedding year. I currently have availability February - December and if you are recently engaged holla at ya girl! Check out Marco & Dennise's lovely engagement session below.
