A few quick tips and tricks on how to prepare for your Maternity session:
1. Timing is Key
Schedule the session when the baby bump is nicely visible but before any discomfort sets in, typically between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy.
2. WHAT TO WEAR
We have an entire celebrity client closet full of robes, gowns, fabrics, bodysuits, suits and more to have the perfect Maternity portrait session. We encourage our clients to bring anything they'd like to wear and the items accentuates the baby bump. Stretchy dresses, flowy fabrics, and outfits with a focus on the belly area work beautifully. Neutrals, pastels, or earthy tones photograph well.
3. Consider Hair and Makeup
We suggest hair and make up on all of our clients. Soft, natural makeup with defined features is great for a glowing look, and loose waves or a simple updo can complement the overall style. We include a hair and make-up artist in all of our maternity sessions. Allow us to take any stress off of your portrait session day!
4. Incorporate Personal Touches
Including sentimental items like a baby’s ultrasound, tiny shoes, or special family heirlooms adds a personal touch to the photos. Also, coordinating outfits with a partner or children helps create a unified and timeless look.
5. Relax and Embrace the Moment
Relax and enjoy the process. Maternity sessions are about celebrating the bond you share with your baby.
